Zero carbon house design by John Christophers of Associated Architects

The new house has been built around an existing early Victorian two-bedroom semi-detached house, produces as much energy as it consumes and is twice bigger than the original one. There are now four bedrooms and a studio loft. The development cost £1,160 per sq m and features more than 14 reclaimed materials as well as integrating sustainable building materials. Designed by John Christophers of Associated Architects as a family home this house is a winner of RIBA award for architectural excellence in 2010. It’s an unique zero carbon project located in inner city Birmingham, UK.
